THE HOLOCAUST OF ATTACHMENT
The lack of intellect has caused the mind’s attachment to spouses, children, wealth, religion, practically everything. The virus of attachment has reached epidemic proportions and the world is in a state of emergency. Yet none seems to recognise the problem, much less tackle it. The solution lies in a concerted effort worldwide to resurrect the fallen intellect. A powerful intellect alone would destroy the virus and generate peace and harmony in the society.

The Symbolism of Hindu Gods and Rituals
Vedanta is the only science in the world which on the one hand presents the most subtle philosophy of Vedanta, on the other hand it prescribes rituals and worship which seem to be very meaningless and useless. Why many gods and goddesses in Hinduism? Why so many rituals in Hinduism? Are all these rituals really necessary? Why can’t Hindus worship only one God without worshiping different idols or deities like other religions do? What exactly do you get from these rituals? Many such questions arise. Purpose of Religion is to gain peace of mind. Man’s wandering mind is constantly occupied with worldly affairs. Such a mind is constantly running after immediate pleasures from the external world. But these only lead to sadness and discomfort. In the past, when sages studied human life, in order to divert the mind towards the realization of the Supreme Truth without getting caught up in the affairs of this world, they found that the human mind is constantly misled by its desires and passions. No person can prevent his mind from wandering elsewhere, as long as it is full of desires and expectations. In order to get out of this obstacle, Hindus have very thoughtfully planned deities, rituals, festivals, celebrations, rituals…..

Bhaja Govindam
Bhaja Govindam is a hymn written by philosopher sage Adi Shankaracharya. It has thirty one verses. The hymn guides the fundamental principles of life. This hymn of Shankaracharya explains the unique combination of karma, devotion and knowledge. Human life is based on two main motivations, Kanchan and Kamini (wealth and enjoyment). Acquisition of wealth and enjoyment of the acquired wealth. This are two very powerful forces that propel the entire life of human being. Shankaracharya does not say not to enjoy real wealth or life, but only to give up the attachment to wealth and desire for enjoyment and enjoy the permeant bliss of supreme Self.
